About Us

OUR GROUP of about 200 Kingstonians raises funds for both THE STEPHEN LEWIS GRANDMOTHER TO GRANDMOTHER CAMPAIGN and HELP LESOTHO. We meet the first Monday of every month at Ongwanada Resource Centre at 5:00 p.m.

This is in support of African grandmothers who are raising their orphaned grandchildren. HIV/AIDS has devasted African families and many grandmothers are the only family members left behind to give care to the children. Help Lesotho cares for grandmothers in the small country of Lesotho located in the south of Africa. The Stephen Lewis Foundation supports over 300 projects offering relief in Africa.

Donors can designate which organization by making their cheque payable to either organization.

Events which raise money for both groups, divide the proceeds evenly between the two groups.

Great Success For the Kingston Grandmother Connection Team!

We are happy to report that our Team has raised $16,000.00 to date through our Participation in the Stride to Turn the Tide Walk held at City Park on Sunday, June 12th.
Our team walked in beautiful sunshine and collectively, we logged 100 kilometres that day!
Many of our members who could not be there sponsored other walkers and in this way were also a part of this initiative for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
We should be proud of our success and be inspired by the knowledge that numerous projects in Sub-Saharan Africa will directly improve the lives of Grandmothers and their grandchildren, due in part to our local efforts.
Once again- the members of our group have come together to continue to fulfill our goal to Turn the Tide of Aids in Africa and bring hope to Grandmothers and their children for the future.

Melodia Monday Concert April 27, 2013

Join us for this musical evening with local choral group Melodia Monday at 7:30 pm at St. John's Anglican Church, 41 Church St., Kingston. Refreshments following the concert.
